The Big Picture
Designed by renowned architect Antoine Predock, this project was a 79,000 square foot addition to the existing 30,000 square foot library which was demolished to structure and re-built. The new structure was primarily structural steel and concrete with glass curtain walls. The building spans an existing street with unique structural solutions. Rawlings Library is now a landmark structure throughout Southern Colorado.
Ingenuity in Action
As part of the project, we helped the Library relocate all services to a vacant building, which we remodeled, to maintain library services throughout the 15 month construction phase. During the project we collaborated with the city and local utilities and designed the building to span an existing street to avoid the cost in relocating major utility lines that serviced parts of Pueblo’s south side.
